OK mothafuckas. Hope you had a fun Christmas if you celebrate it. And I hope grandma gave you a little extra ice cream money. Because boy do I have an event for you. Ticket link here.
We announced the lineup for our NYE show at Baby’s. If you’ve ever read this blog and thought, ‘Damn this gig sounds fun,’ the New Year’s party is a good time to show up. Ticket link here.
Jack and I worked with Alex and Billy to book a bunch of artists we love & want you to see. I’ll go act by act below.
But the main point is: it’s sick that Baby’s gave us the keys to the castle on such a major night. We booked the NYE party we wanna go to. And we hope you’ll hang with us : )

BigKlit
Here are a few of my favorite lines from the Klitorious B.I.G. catalogue:
“Lyin on your dick. Lyin on your dick / Why you lyin on your dick? Lyin on your dick.”
“I like girls, and I like guys / When you eat my pussy, look me in the eyes.”
“If there was a god I would make him eat my pussy / What that mouth do, boy. Go make it gushy.”
I’ve wanted to see BigKlit for years. Can’t believe I might get to hear “Fried” through a professional-ass speaker system. Counting on this to be pretty unhinged.
And it seems like she might be pregnant? Unclear.

Malice K
Malice K’s set at the Living Gallery in January was one of the best performances I saw in 2022. I didn’t know him before showing up—I was there to see LUCY and Gods Wisdom. But the sound of the crowd singing along with “Changes” was louder than Malice’s voice through the mic.

Gods Wisdom
In 2016, Pitchfork called Gods Wisdom’s album “an endurance test.” They gave him a 4.9.
He’s been making the weirdest music in Western Massachusetts for at least 10 years, and I’ve been an obsessive fan for about 5. I’m not sure what he does for work currently, but he used to be a pizza delivery guy. This song brags about all the money he makes as a sugar baby.
I wish I could give you a curated primer on Gods Wisdom. But some of his most legendary songs / music vids are no longer on the web. And he’s released so much music over the years. So start with this playlist. It has a bunch of his collabs with LUCY.
Gods Wisdom’s music videos are a pretty important part of his world-building, and this new one is unreal.
Clovis
I saw Clovis open for Starcrawler at Baby’s. I’m used to seeing Ben up there with Stella Rose & the Dead Language, but he hits it pretty hard as a frontman. This band sounds fat. And they made a drumstick twirl seem cool—I really didn’t think that move was salvageable.
Blaketheman1000
Before I got outta Boston, I used to sing “high as fuck on a Manhattan bound train” to myself and think about moving to the big apple. Now I’m here, and Blake has never stopped defining the moment. What’s it gonna take to get “East Williamsburg” on Spotify?
454
Thanks for the rec, Blake. 454’s live videos look unreal. And he’s got Frank Ocean, Denzel Curry, and Alex Gleeson on board, so I’m excited to see what all the hype is about.
NEW YORK
NEW YORK has a cool website. And they’re from London. And their album is crazy. If people are gonna keep talking about indie sleaze, they should be talking about NEW YORK. This is a bill of local legends, but it’s also a bill of international superstars. One more time with the ticket link.
